Friday Rick Interview

I thought a nice thing to close out the week would be this new interview from Rick Owens posted by one of my favourite shops Antonioli. He chats about his influences for his latest collection. I really love any interview from Rick. His voice is so soothing and he always has something interesting to say. I think he should make a cd of ambient noise and him talking that we can fall asleep to.

Ovate Jewellery

Joanna Szkiela's jewellery for Montreal's Audrey Cantwell's Ovate makes me want to punch more holes in my ears. The earrings and rings have a rough twig-like quality that I quite like. Each ring depicts a different Rune. Runes are letters in alphabets predating the Latin alphabet and were used from approximately AD150-1100+.

I have to admit that when I was younger I started studying Runes as a hobby. I can say with probable certainty that this was most likely around the time that the movie The Craft came out, though I've always had a love of history. I'm not sure many girls growing up in the 90s avoided going through a "witchy" phase.
