I think my favourite thing about visiting Southern California is the plants. I spent a lot of time taking pictures of plants, commenting on plants and trees, petting and oogling plants and landscaping everywhere I went. I just love cacti and succulents.
Other people were busy taking pictures of themselves in front of the Getty's view of L.A. while I was busy dangling off the edge of the railing taking beauty shots of the cacti below.

Unfortunately in my wet and cool climate (and with my black thumb and apartment's minimal natural light), cacti and succulents die a horrible, soggy, light-deprived death.

Stunning scenery. I love cacti and succulents, too. Fortunately that's one plus about being in Texas. They're abundant and grow like crazy in this hot sunny environment.
ahh those aoeniums are beautiful! we had some at the store i work, last year (and i live in norway, the land of streets filled with polar bears and reindeer)!
