Gradient Calgel Nails

Just a quick photo of my black gradient Calgel nails. I got then done in pink while in Tokyo (towards the beginning of our trip) and by the time I got back they were grown out quite a bit, as I didn't have a chance to get them filled anywhere. My nails must grow fast. I think if I had them filled they would have lasted longer, but they had started to lift up a bit at the edge towards the cuticle, so I just decided to get them removed and have a new set put on. The perfect opportunity to get a colour more congruent with my personal style.

It doesn't really show with this angle, but this is the longest my nails have been in... ever. They're naturally really thin and weak. It used to make my skin crawl to have them longer than the edge of my finger, but with the gel I can grow them a bit longer without feeling like they're going to snap off at any given moment.

So I'm pretty much in love! They've made me happier than any other purchase.

Joana- if you want to do it yourself with regular nail polish, I've seen tutorials on youtube where they've used a variety of light-to-dark shades and a makeup sponge to sponge on the colour.

These are so beautiful! I love ombre, never thought about doing it on nails though!
My nails are exactly the same, except I was a biter (so I guess they have reason for being thin & weak!) & I've recently started getting mine done in an attempt to grow them. I really must ask for something similar next time!

This looks fantastic - I might try the tutorial Stephanie mentioned if I can't get the original!

Hmmm, people are always telling me that the gel application/removal process fucks up your nails. Otherwise I would...
