I made a few purchases in NYC, but nothing all that exciting! Just some of those items that aren't exciting to purchase but are highly useful.
I finally broke down and got a linen Isabel Marant tee. I've wanted one for a long time, but couldn't justify the price. I searched and searched for something similar, but couldn't find anything that fit the bill. So I gave in a bought one at the store in Soho.
At Uniqlo I finally bought some round-neck cashmere sweaters, in black and light grey. I know I will get a lot of use out of them. I also got an oversize blue button-up shirt that I was on the fence about but have already worn a lot since.
Shown at the very bottom of the pile- I braved Topshop on a Saturday to get a pair of Baxter grey jeans, and I love them!
At Otte in Greenwich Village (I love Greenwich Village! I would want to live there if I ever live in NYC) I got these teeny tiny skull earrings in rose gold. They also come in silver or gold.
At Diptyque I made J buy me a candle because he (albeit accidentally) smashed one of mine. I went with Feu de Bois, which I have always wanted and is the perfect smokey woody smell for fall and Halloween.
Also, I painted the tables like Anna's Faux-Aalto table makeover. I like the update!

Those skulls are going to look pretty cool. I'm glad someone had good luck at Uniqlo! I was hoping it would run small since it's Japanese. I was really looking forward to getting a pair of basic navy chinos. The button up shirt looks good too.
On a side note, your rug is pretty cool too.
Fab fab things from New York! I miss the city life so much.
Those skull stubs are exactly what I've been looking for. As for Uniqlo, I went nuts in there. And a new one just opened up on 5th ave!
Great buys! I love feu de bois, I think I'm going to go for for that one the next time I'm buying a new scented candle.
Uniqlo is heaven for me. So many good basics in neutral colours! The earrings are lovely too - rose gold is so warm. Nice for this time of year.
I love pretty much everything you bought! I am dying to go to NYC!!! Lucky you!
Great buys! Love them all!

I love diptyque candles! I also like the stool idea...and I do need a new stool.
Love the earrings! Do you know what brand they are?
Alice & Others- thanks! It felt satisfying to stick to my list.
H- The round-neck cashmere sweaters are great, I almost wish I bought some back-ups.
LL- I know, we just missed the opening. I can't believe how much advertising they had around the city. You really couldn't escape it!
Hanna- I'm not sure, I don't think it was listed on the website and there is no marking on them.
from your description alone, i want that candle. no diptyque sold here, perhaps i'll wing it and order online.
cool earrings- small earrings are under-rated.

Great haul.
Feu de Bois is wonderful (particularly in fall) - enjoy!
Basics purchases are always so much more worthwhile in the end. I have to keep telling myself this. I too cannot stand the idea of paying $$$ for something so simple as a tshirt, but you can't beat the quality in the end.
loving Diptyque scents!!!
These purchases all sound wonderful! I'd be really interested in seeing more of these cashmere sweaters! I have such a soft spot for cashmere <3
