We had two whippet sightings when we were away! One in Paris and one in Stockholm. We were like giddy little kids, and kept discussing how Santos would love Paris if we even move there.

hannah- No, not just European whippets, I think whippets are naturally chic! Mine is a proud prancer.

my husband says whippets are quite skittish and shy; is that your experience with santos and others of this breed?
Some can be skiddish or stand-offish, but ours isn't. As a puppy she was the most shy in the litter, but she soon loosened up and most people are surprised how much of a socialite she is for a whippet- she loves playing with other dogs at the park and likes to say hello to people. Santos is only 2 years old, and we hear they settle down as they age, like most dogs. Some older whippets we meet are standoffish ie-want nothing to do with a frisky teenage-whippet, but I wouldn't say skiddish. Sensitive and mild-tempered, if anything. For example, Santos gets a bit scared if dogs are barking or growling in her face, and who could blame her! In my experience Italian Greyhounds are the skiddish ones, but I think it depends on the dog's personality. Most people with whippets describe them as cat-dogs, which is very true.
I think you would all fit into Paris life, sometimes I wish I could take my dogs with me on my Paris trips !!!
