marimekko good company

I love this Marimekko Oiva- In Good Company collection designed by Sami Ruotsalainen, a graduate of the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. The pattern is from Maija Louekari. Vancouver is so lucky to have its very own Marimekko store where I can fondle everything in person. I definitely want to get some of those plates and add a mug to my Marimekko mug collection.

Visit Maija's website to see more work for Marimekko, other illustrations and design work. I love this idea to say hi to your neighbors!

I love the shape of that mug. So cute.

I've always preferred the more modern lines drawing styles Marimekko offers to their traditional patterns.

I used to live in Finland, and I can tell you, after awhile, enough with the flowers....

That flower pot idea is cute and I want to try it! Though I'm laughing at The Kindly Ones comment about Finland.
