I went to Granville Island yesterday looking for colourful carrots, but unfortunately only found regular ones. I did find locally made corn tortillas and bought our favourite chicken-pot pies for dinner.

The flower stalls were the highlight, with some unusual flowers on display. I really can't wait until local berries are in season. In the summer, I'm obsessed with eating as many cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, nectarines, as humanly possible!

The seagulls there are pretty pushy, and totally used to begging people for food and being chased by toddlers. I was eating a Bratwurst outside and that guy up there flew over and stood in front of me about 2ft away. Looks like he took a lesson right out of the Santos handbook.
I also saw that they had Fiddleheads, which I am curious about. Might have to go back and get some to try.

granville is so vibrant!
fiddleheads are amazing if they are fresh and the right size/kind. we pick our own (we pick our own mushrooms, chanterelles, etc, too) and it's wonderful.
Yummy, gorgeous photos.
