I drafted up the pattern and tested it with some denim. As you can see I have no pattern weights, and use random heavy objects! (tape measure, plyers, container of glue, etc!)

I wanted them to be very clean and structured with perfect right angles, so they are a "box" style cushion with a zipper. That made the corners a bit tricky, but finally after sewing the second cross I got the hang of it and worked out all the sewing kinks. The last one I sewed was definitely the best.
I was anxious to get them done, so I ignored any strings or devices to attach the cushions to the chair. Right now they are just sitting there, which is fine, but I think I might figure out a way to tie them down without using self-fabric ties... maybe leather straps or something...
I'm very happy with the results, and can't wait to get the next project done. This one has been in the works for a while- lights over our dining table! Finally! Stay tuned. More projects to come.

Fabulous! And I love every little thing about your outdoor space.
Predictable comment coming from me, I know, but...I love the cushions!
I also still really like that runner, too.
these came out awesome!!
You did an amazing job, and the overall look is so great. I love how they work with/against the table runner and the different direction of the wood slats on the table. I do also just love the table runner itself, though. Good stuff.
