this day was the day that i really felt like i could live in paris/france. it was the personal and intimate experience of our lunch, with 10 parisian strangers (plus chef and waiter) of varying ages - an experience that couldn't be farther from the stereotype of the "snobbish and standoffish french attitude." even though i wasn't comfortable with the idea, it was actually nice to sit a table with a conversation going on in french and feel included, even though i couldn't understand half the words, or actively participate. i wanted it to be home for more than just the romantic, idealistic reasons.
