hmm. i see.

ugh. well, there are now no dometic magazines i buy (i consider us mags domestic, even though i'm canadian, fyi). after what seems like months of speculation and rumor, domino just folded. frankly i'd rather see condé nast fold american vogue. hah! now i wonder what happens to my 3-year subscription i paid for... i hope they don't give me a subscription so some other crappy 'nast magazine. actually i could probably put a cooking magazine to good use, but whatever.

actually i think i am going to subscribe to national geographic. i always relish reading them in doctors/dentist/derm offices, and i recently bought the newest issue to read on the plane. i like them because the articles are actually extremely fascinating and the images are always stunning.

rip domino. anyone know where i can find skona hem in vancouver? i've looked everywhere i can think of but to no avail.

i've been thinking of subscribing to the weekend nytimes. i miss sprawling on the floor with a bowl of cereal and a newspaper.

i was never a fan of magazine subscriptions, i always felt overwhelmed by all that paper. at least newspapers can be reused for painting or haircut projects (not to mention house-training a dog if i ever get one)....

I think a subscription to Hat Geo is a great idea. If you like interior magazines, you should take a look at Inside Out from here in Australia too.

erica- i don't like newspapers. too big and gets my fingers dirty. i do hate having a ton of magazines around though. since i got out of school i cut down my magazine purchasing quite a lot. usually i only buy 1-3 a month. usually just 1 (paris vogue). tfs forums are so great for magazine scans, so i don't have to buy any.

i think once you have your baby you will have your hands quite full! i don't think i'd want to add a pup to the crazy mix! at least babies don't pee all over the floor... or do they? i don't know.

Ha! I thought exactly the same thing...why can't they shut down USVogue? Imagine the wasted $$ over there!

Living Etc. (UK) is my only home magazine purchase these days.

been lurking for alittle while - new (kinda) to your style but love it. i think you, your blog and tastes very cool. the only mag subscription i get is martha stewart.... was just getting into domino type stuff - figures. my husband gets consumer reports - i love it!

fobs- i have heard that aussie interior mags are really good- i should check some out soon.

carlene- haha, i know. it would be such a delicious scandal. i certainly wouldn't miss it one bit. i like living etc too. its one i buy in addition to elle decor uk, which i guess is my new favorite. i just don't like that i can't buy anything in it because its all from uk or europe. (in addition to being tres tres expensive)

romaine- thanks, you're so sweet. i love martha stewart. my mom calls me martha because i'm a perfectionist when it comes to holiday decor!

apologies, as this is unrelated but I just found your site and I love it.

Would you like to exchange links?

I was pretty sad to read this yesterday, too. And I can tell you, they'll probably replace it with gagariffic Architecture Digest (you know the magazine for dead people or the soon to be), so I'd cancel asap. They replaced my House&Garden subscription with AD.

I hate American Vogue too, yet still subscribe to it. A friend recommended Living etc as a relatively decent (although hit or miss) sub for Domino...

...thought i'd join in,
i'll miss my domino terribly! i loved how it catered to some of us on a budget, and it's mix of high/low.

and YES, get rid of that awful american vogue!!!

i know such a bummer right?! they'll change your subscription to a similar magazine, unless you call and cancel your subscription for a refund. anyway, so sad about domino! xo
