tote bag

Land's End Monogram Totes

i've decided that a big canvas tote will be purchased by me in late spring early summer. it seems like a classic staple. i got interested when i saw one in an apartment therapy house tour oddly enough. it got me searching and comparing totes from various preppy online retailers and i ended up liking the land's end ones best. they are cheap and you can get them monogrammed, which i might- just with my first initial. not only will it be a great beach and market bag, but also good for storing sweaters and accessories in my closet during the winter months.

So weird! I was looking at the Land's End totes about a few days ago (only cause of airmiles, didn't even think of the other companies). I'm looking for a "diaper" bag that isn't overly mommy-like and that I can still use after the baby stops using diapers. I thought about this tote, but wasn't sure. Got any suggestions?

mel- if you want a higher end one (there are some in leather or canvas with leather trim) check out la garconne's tote selection: http://www.lagarconne.com/store/category.htm?sid=191

there are similar totes to the land's end ones at l.l.bean and j.crew too.

you know, i bet we could sew our own if we had the motivation! (which I do not at this point)

a good diaper bag that i sold at that kids store was one by skip hop, but i wouldn't want to use it as anything other than a diaper bag, although it is daddy friendly if you will be swapping out. the best feature was two clips on each side that you could use to clip it onto the stroller handles. But I bet you could retrofit that onto a cuter tote bag...

Oo, I do like this idea of winter sweater storage--or even summer shoes storage during winter months. Much nicer than generic, plastic tuperware containers.
