an apc filled day

today i finally got my mustard apc dress! it took forever to come and sadly i got dinged by customs. the weather her was very schizophrenic today- in the city it was sunny and chilly, but a 15 minute drive away it was blizzard conditions! we ended up walking up main street to go window shopping. i found a pair of white apc ribbed tights at eugene choo for $24 so i scooped them up. i don't have any white tights yet, so i thought it would be a good addition. i was also hoping they would have the space-dyed apc sweater with pockets-and they did- but only in xs which was soooo tiny.

i looove the colour- it's a huge departure for me, but i think it will look fantastic with many different shoe options- especially my black patent repetto zizi's.

also, i'm in vegas for work this week so probably no posts. i don't like vegas and can't wait until i get home.

ooh i considered those tights yesterday but decided i could get by with the woolly tights i already have... i'm sure you'll love them, though. especially if it's still this cold when you get back from Vegas!

that's funny! I'm sure there will be more cold weather when I return- I've never worn white tights before so I will have to experiment with some outfits. :)

That is such a beautiful dress, and ribbed tights are just the best. I hope Vegas makes a better impression this time so you're not too homesick. I've never been, but their CSI is the best. :P

thanks erica- i think it's the "fake-ness" that gets to me the most in vegas- and the fact that you have to take a cab everywhere because the casinos are so big. i could go on and on about the things i don't like about vegas, but i won't! i just hope it goes by fast.

Aww...I can take your place in Vegas if you want? I love the dress, but was quite surprised that you got it, being yellow and all. But I think with your current hair color it'll look fab!! The last time I was on Main there was this little store that was selling that retro hibiscus oil cloth...did you see any of that on your walk/window shopping? I'm trying to score some but being in Victoria and all I'm coming up with nothing!

hey mel! yes, yellow is a big change for me, but i really like it.

Are you looking for oil cloth by the meter? I know there is a store right beside twigg and hottie that sells it. I think it's called Lasy Susan's? I remember the last time I was in there they sold a few select patterns by the meter and then had smaller scraps for sale. Maybe when I get back I can go check it out and take pics of what kind of patterns they have- what are you making?

creatures of comfort used to have that apc sweater on sale, but they recently took down the apc images on their website. bird is selling the sweater (xs and m) for $319, which is still a bit pricey.

i love that mustardy yellow, it'll be a great color to enliven your basics.

i've been waiting impatiently for the spring a.p.c. look book to be uploaded on the fashion spot. the a.p.c. website is underwhelming me.

good luck with your vegas trip. i haven't been there in over 10 years, but i remember enjoying its tawdriness when i was little. it's a lot different now, but the old casinos were really kitschy and fun to see back then.

Oh, so envious of your new A.P.C. dress and ribbed tights. *Dreamy*! p.s. your hair looks fab curly!

Surprise! free wifi at my hotel!

erica- thanks for the heads up on the sweater! I was able to check out the spring look book yesterday at eugene choo and there were so many more things than what's on the site now (obviously) I can't remember anything fabulous in particular (there were some cute sandals but upon further inspection, I didn't really think suit me all that well) They looked similar to those wedges from fall.

I just joined the fashion spot recently- what's your name on there?

topbird- thanks! I'm glad my curls are getting a good response! :)

I have been smitten by this dress for a long time. At least someone in the blog world now owns it. so nice!

i'm not officially a fashion spot member, but i occasionally stumble across a thread via google. i don't know if i will buy anything from a.p.c. this season. i was thinking about the long sleeved plaid dress, but i'm not sure it would be flattering on me. i do love the grey/lavender corduroy pants, though. very nice color.
